My family and I went here just for Cuban sandwiches and walked out with much more!!! The roast pork was to die for and the helpins are HUGE!!! Very friendly owners and the sandwiches were on point!!! I would highly recommend to everyone! We may pick some up before we leave to head home.

Went there when it first opened. It was ok. They were friendly. Sandwich was a little greasy, but it was good. Noting to write home about, but it may be worth a second or third trip.

Armando catered my parents 50th anniversary for 100 people (most traveling from Miami) and they all LOVED the food. He did a great job and the food is authentically Cuban.

Fantastic & authentic!! I had the ox tails and Cuban roast pork... OMG... A little slice of heaven!! Of the two I'd certainly go with the ox tails, but the roast pork was very good as well. I also had the yellow rice... That was very delicious!!! My husband had the pressed Cuban, he said it was ok but it was pressed a little too long and had way too much mustard. Other than that, it was a good sandwich. I might have given it 5 stars but the guy behind the counter ruined that!! His attitude was awful!! Not friendly @ all... So if you can overlook the attitude, this is a very good place to eat!

A hidden gem. We drove by it the first time and had to turn around.. Glad we did. great lunch and great price. I had the cuban sanwich and it was my first time having one.. Very good. My wife had the rice with the pulled chicken and it was great.. very tasty. He also accomidated my daughter and made her a kids size portion. She loved it , She also had the chicken and rice. would go back next time in area.. The owner wasn't all smiles but not grumpy at all. He spoke with us for alittle while and seemed like a hard working man who enjoyed doing what he was doing..

One of those strip-mall hidden gems. Delicious, friendly, relaxed, and authentic. The Cuban sandwich is the best within 100 miles, but it takes about 10 minutes to prepare (it's the real deal.) The plates are also fantastic (pork's the best, of course) and are the best choice for a quick lunch or dinner.

after reading reviews about the Sandwich, gave it a go....sorry you folks may be from cuba but the sandwich is not! Stale bread and very little meat.....also drinks served in cans, a cup of ice goes a long way with customer service...good luck

I have to agree wtih Tye comment below... I havent eaten here since June / 2010 because the owner.. Well, he like ignores you and never greets customers with a smile, etc.. I'm American and I remember going and looking at the deliscious food and being enthusiastic about it... The owner answered my questions with a HO HUM attitude He just isnt a pleasant person.. The older woman is nice as well as the son that I use to see there.. I would try to deal with her when I went.. Then, I just said forget it and never went back.. I wrote the guy off as an a-hole.. He obviously has no salesman skills.. WIth that all said, THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD!

Hey , stopped in that place also thinking it would be a nice inexspenive place to eat cuban. Food. He did the exact same thing to us! Didn't let us pay. Until after we ate. And yes, it was the same tiny platesthat cannot even hold a portion of rice you would get everywhere else.. eight dollars for us too. Meanwhile while we were eating, different sets of cuban locals came in for food to go. The to go boxes has so much food in them you couldn't come close to closing them! The food was just ok. Wew ended up going to another place an hour later. Stay out of his place. Might be cheaper to drive to Miami.

Awesome place. Highly recommend. Friendly atmosphere and the cuban sandwiches were great. The local newspaper voted them best in town and it's well deserved.

I'm from Chicago, but I visit family in Florida all the time. Every visit I make it a point to stop here for a Cubano sandwich. I used to go to a different place in the same area, but they went under and I randomly found Cuban Taste when driving by one day. Stopped in and I fell in love with the place. It's got a very laid back vibe, with some Cuban themed pictures on the walls. The place is a bit divey, but comfortable at the same time. It's the kinda' place you'd want to stop in for a bite and hang out for a little bit. They keep the door open and let the nice breeze come. It's got a really nice atmosphere. Now to the food, I ordered a Cuban Sandwich and was amazed. They prepare them on the spot so the sandwich is hot and fresh. It will definitely fill you up. I loved that the sandwiches were traditionally made too. If you want some top notch food from a good little treasure make sure you stop by Cuban Taste!

It's nice to have a place to get Cuban food in Port Charlotte, but this place is mediocre at best. It wouldn't last a week in Miami.
